Bell Ringing

” Hello, we are the bell ringers of St Mary’s Leigh, we are friendly bunch of local people who meet every Monday 7.30pm till 8.45pm to practice the historic art of full circle bellringing. Bellringing dates back to early medieval times but in its current form from the late 17th century.
We also ring the bells for church services, weddings, civic events, and other special celebrations.
We are in a joint partnership with Tlydesley, whose ringers join us on practice nights, and we also affiliated to the Lancashire Association of Change Ringers, a body which brings ringers from far and wide together for  training and social events.
You are most welcome to join us, ringer or non ringer even if it’s just for a look round and see what it’s all about and see our historic bells in their chamber and if you are more daring perhaps you will look to and have a ring.
If you wish to contact us then feel free.
